Why We Do It

Luke 2 Art Studio was founded to address a common challenge in prayer and spiritual reflection: the distractions that often prevent people from fully engaging with the events of Christ’s life. Often, prayer can become routine, with individuals reciting words without deeply contemplating the meaning behind them.

We recognized that art can help believers more vividly imagine sacred moments and enter into deeper prayer. Luke 2 Art Studio was created to inspire reflection, prayer, and a deeper connection with the life of Christ. By incorporating art into prayer through visio divina—Latin for “divine seeing,” the practice of praying with a sacred image or work of art—we engage not only our words but also our sight and imagination, allowing us to encounter God more fully.
